Tyce (our 17-month-old) had a rough day today...let me break it down. He went to bed at 7pm last night and when 8:30am rolled around and he still wasn't up, I went upstairs to check on him. He was kneeling in his bed drenched in sweat. I picked him up and carried him downsairs. I guess i hadn't really looked at his face 'cuz when Brad saw him he said "good morning blue lips"...that's right his lips were blue!!! NOT GOOD. So I hurried and got dressed and rushed him to the InstaCare...which of course wasn't open until 12pm...jerks. So I sped as fast as I could to the hospital. I NEVER speed, but I was flying. I was actually hoping a cop would pull me over so maybe I could get an escort to the hospital, but no luck. So, you know how you usually have to wait FOREVER to be seen in the ER? Well I found out if you go in and tell them you think your kid can't really breath they take you RIGHT back. Turns out Tyce has pneumona. Luckily he responded ok to the breathing treatment (which he screamed all the way through-it took Brad, my mom and me to hold him and hold the mask to his face), so they gave him one of those thick antibiotic shots (my pediatrician's office said it is like injecting peanut butter-I bet that feels good), an oral antibiotic and an oral steroid. 3 hours later we left with 4 perscriptions in hand and a tired baby. I told Tyce if he didn't want to go to church today he could have just said something, he didn't have to stop breathing-well, almost stop breathing.
So, as if that weren't bad enough, a couple of hours ago he was standing at the back door and as it closed he got his finger shut in the door! Like shut as in we had to open the door to get his finger out! I couldn't even look at it. I just handed him to Brad. He was bleeding pretty badly for a little while from under his fingernail, and the other side of his finger was all shredded up. It looks nasty. He is lucky he didn't get the tip of his finger cut off! So that was pretty intense for a little while. We had to duct tape the bandaids onto his finger because he kept picking at them. It is so sad. So, needless to say, Tyce (and I) will be glad when this day is over...
Thank goodness for modern medicine. Between antibiotics, steroids and motrin we should be able to make it through these next few days.

Omigosh! I am so sorry! Poor kid; are you guys getting sleep? Aaah! I hate when kids are sick or hurt; I don't deal well with any of it.
Oh Destenee! I'm all teared up! How miserable! That's just not fair! For you, or Tyce!
Poor Tyce, and poor you. What a sad day.
Yikes, How scary!!! I hope he is doing better. I'm glad to hear you live so close to Cookie and Me!! We'll have to get together sometime.
We hope Tyce is feeling better! It's no fun being sick (or having a sick baby!) We're glad his fingers are okay, we sympathize with finger injuries. Give Tyce a hug for us!
Hope he is doing better now! If it's not one thing it's another! Sorry I never made it up there. I have been so tired this week. Jake is coming home tomorrow, so let's plan on getting together next week.
