Lets go fly a kite...

Can you see the kite up there in the clouds?

A couple of weeks a go we had a really windy day. We wanted to go to the park and fly Brad's Kite boarding kite, but it is HUGE and it was REALLY windy and we couldn't find anyone else to go with us (trust me it is a MONDO kite that could easily pick Brad up off his feet and carry him away). So instead we took the boys and Brad's practice kite, which is still a decent size, and headed to the local elementary school. Lets just say the boys had the time of their life. They got to take turns helping their dad hold the kite. Even Tyce got into it. It was so windy that they could hang on to the handle and hang from it with out the kite coming down one bit. We discovered that I am not cut out for flying kites in extra windy conditions. Brad handed me the kite at one point and the wind ripped it out of my hands...luckily Brad only had to climb one tal fence and treck through a few weeds to get it back. It was a fun way to spend the evening. Maybe next time we will brave the mondo kite, but I will definatly want back up.

That sounds so cool! We love kites! We have a dragon kite that we got from Costco that the kids just love! Having a kite that can drag you around would be tons of fun!

Parallel lives once again. We flew kites a couple weekends ago... our kite was a bit more manageable though.

That sounds like so much fun! We don't get to fly kites here in AZ too much. Unless we want to fly them in a dust storm!

Sorry, I deleted the above comment b/c I had like 50 spelling errors!

Braj,

I don't know how I came across your blog but I was pleasantly surprised. Give me a call when you get a chance so we can catch up.

Looks like your boys had a great time. I have never been successful at flying kites, little or big. It sounds like a lot of fun!
